online EMDR Therapy
Specialized therapy that meets you where you are.
You don’t have to leave your current therapist
or your couch.
You’ve done a lot of work in therapy.
You understand yourself better, you’ve made meaningful changes, and you have a therapist you trust. But there may still be an experience, memory, or pattern that you understand intellectually and just can’t seem to move past.
Online EMDR can be added to the therapy you’re already doing. I’ll collaborate with your current therapist to provide focused, short-term EMDR treatment while they remain your primary source of ongoing support.
You don’t need to start therapy
all over again.
Sometimes you’ve talked about something enough. You understand why it affected you. You can see how it connects to what you struggle with now. And yet, your body and emotions still seem to react as though knowing all of that hasn’t changed anything.
Maybe it’s one painful experience you keep coming back to. A relationship or breakup you can’t quite move beyond. Something from childhood that still carries more weight than you want it to. Or a belief about yourself that persists despite years of evidence that it isn’t true.
That doesn’t mean your current therapy isn’t working. You may simply benefit from a different approach to this particular piece of the work.
Adjunctive EMDR allows us to focus specifically on what feels stuck without disrupting a therapeutic relationship that is already important to you.
The goal isn’t to erase what happened or make you forget it. It’s to find and believe the truth of who you are and help the put the past where it belongs.
With EMDR therapy you can:
Think about what happened without feeling like you’re right back in it
Feel less emotionally activated by reminders, triggers, or situations connected to the past
Loosen deeply held beliefs like “I’m not enough,” “It was my fault,” or “I’m not safe”
Move forward from a breakup, betrayal, loss, or painful relationship experience that still feels unresolved
Respond differently when an old experience gets activated in your current relationships
Feel less anxiety, shame, guilt, or self-blame around something you know intellectually wasn’t your fault
Trust what you know now instead of automatically responding from what you learned then
Remember difficult experiences without them carrying the same emotional intensity
Bring the progress you make in EMDR back into your ongoing therapy and everyday life
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is a trauma therapy designed to help the brain process experiences that continue to feel emotionally unresolved.
Unlike approaches that rely primarily on talking through an experience, EMDR incorporates bilateral stimulation, often through guided eye movements or other alternating left-right stimulation, while working with memories, emotions, body sensations, and beliefs connected to the experience.
You don’t need to tell me every detail of what happened for us to work with it.
This is one reason EMDR can complement other forms of therapy so well. Your ongoing therapist doesn’t need to stop doing the work they’re already doing with you.
Instead, we identify a specific area where EMDR may be useful, focus our work there, and collaborate with your therapist so your treatment remains connected.
