meet your therapist: jaclyn rubbo, lmft

Hi, I’m Jaclyn.

I believe you are inherently worthy of joy and freedom in your adulthood, no matter what your childhood looked like. I’m here to support you to embody that truth.

You don’t have to hold it all together here.

I’m a sensitive soul who can handle the tough stuff. My intention is to be present with my clients in the way I believe we all deserve: with curiosity, compassion, steadiness, acceptance, heart, humanity, and a grounded commitment to what you want for yourself.

MY APPROACH

You’ve been pushing yourself for years, I believe healing happens in a different way.

I offer a space where you don’t have to perform, perfect, or manage someone else’s feelings while you get real with yourself.

I believe we arrive to our challenges because they once were our best options. We arrive at therapy because they are also keeping us from the life we really want.

Together, we bring curiosity to the patterns underneath the anxiety, overthinking, and relationship struggles—and work toward shifting them in a way that actually lasts.

Using trauma-informed integrative approaches like NARM, EMDR, somatic, and relational therapy, we work in the present moment to get to the root of your challenges so change is embodied, not just cognitive or behavioral.

Background & Experience

I feel honored to have been a therapist for over a decade. Before opening my private practice in 2021, I worked as the Counseling Program Director at a CA rape crisis center, where I supported survivors of sexual assault for five years. I have provided therapy in various settings, including elementary and high schools, community clinics, and juvenile detention centers. I have facilitated support groups for survivors of sexual abuse, teen moms, LGBTQ+ youth, and human trafficking survivors.

As a lifelong learner, I continue to pursue advanced training to provide the most effective care for my clients. I am actively engaged in ongoing training and enjoy supporting new therapists whether through presentations, my role as a NARM training assistant, and offering depth oriented supervision and clinical consultation.

human to human,

I am deeply passionate about real connection and creating space for meaningful conversations.

My own personal journey has shaped my ability to support others in building healthy relationships, cultivating resilience, and developing a strong sense of self.

I’ve lived in Scotland, Texas, California, Mexico, and Montana, travel as much as I can, and appreciate learning from folks from different cultures and backgrounds.

I feel most at peace when I am on the river, feel most myself when I am in community with women, and feel most alive when I am dancing, singing or watching a good sunset.

I am an extrovert who tends to get too deep at parties and too competitive during board games.

I’m a mama to one little human and one big dog.

My soul medicine includes: my own therapy, laughing, being in nature, engaging in joyful movement, writing poetry, quality time with loved ones, and chocolate.

She’s constantly working to improve her skill set. Everyone finds her easy to talk to, welcoming, warm, and non-judgemental. Jaclyn chooses her words with care to ensure she is honest and clear, but also kind and considerate.”

“Jaclyn is open and honest. She has genuine curiosity, never jumping to conclusions without asking more questions, clarifying, and being open to the response. Jaclyn is approachable and has an ease about her that offers a sense of safety in her presence.”

“Jaclyn is a genuinely caring, empathetic and thoughtful person. She really listens to what is said, and not said, and responds in considerate and attentive ways. She is trauma informed in every interaction she has and holds that as a strong value. Jaclyn is also very honest and true to her values and does not shy away from difficult conversations. She is honest yet always thoughtful and respectful.”

“Jaclyn is unique as a therapist because she is a “safe space”. She doesn’t feel overly clinical or distant – she is compassionate, thoughtful, and supportive. This makes opening up to her as easy as opening up to a friend. It’s clear that she holds no judgement, and that she truly comes from a place of love, not obligation. Her skill, combined with this empathy and love makes her the best possible option for a therapist.”

“She is really kind and sweet and knows a sh*t ton about trauma. If you are looking for someone who will make you feel welcome and safe and is just, like, a nice, non-threatening lady, but who still can absolutely handle your sh*t and help you learn to hold it, Jaclyn is your gal.”

“Jaclyn is a warm, approachable, and gifted therapist. She is uniquely attuned to the complex elements of mental health care and can provide a safe space for anyone who interacts with her. She is not only experienced and highly knowledgeable in her field, she also cares and wants to help. Few people are better suited to their professions.”
